Cremation Ceremony for King Rama the Ninth

Dear Friends

Wat Mahathat Temple, Kings Bromley is organising a Royal Robe Offering  Ceremony on Sunday 22 October 2017 from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm

to mark the Cremation of our late King Bhumibol Adulyadej

As you may know, His Majesty King Bhumipol (King Rama the Ninth) was the Thai nation’s beloved King. He passed away on 13 October 2016. His body has been kept for the people to pay their respects in the Grand Palace, Bangkok for a year. It is time for the Cremation Ceremony, which will take place in Thailand on 26 October 2017.

Wat Mahathat Temple, Kings Bromley has been offered Royal Robes continuously since 2007 and the Royal Robes will again be brought this year from the Palace on Sunday, 22 October 2017.

The Cremation Ceremony of our beloved King Rama the Ninth will be marked throughout Thailand, as well as at Thai community temples around the world. The Temple Committee have resolved to hold our Royal Robe ceremony and the Cremation Flower Offering for His Late Majesty on the same day, Sunday 22 October 2017.

Accordingly, I would like to invite you to participate in this ceremony to mark the Cremation of His Late Majesty at 2.00 pm. The day will, however, run from 10.00 am until 5.00 pm.
